The Bernstein Conference took place from September 29 to October 2, 2024. This year, several researchers from the SmartNet project attended, contributing to discussions and sharing their latest findings with the broader scientific community.
One highlight of the conference was a talk given by SmartNet PhD Candidate Claudia Cusseddu. Her presentation, titled “A family of synaptic plasticity rules based on spike times produces a diversity of triplet motifs in recurrent networks,” explored how theoretical and experimental work has shown that connectivity structures between a few neurons (known as “motifs”) can help us understand the structure and dynamics of large neural networks. In her talk, she demonstrated how these motifs can also provide insights into plasticity mechanisms in recurrent networks. (The full abstract is available here.)
The Bernstein Conference continues to serve as an excellent platform for our researchers to showcase their work, engage with international experts, and further the collective understanding of brain function through computational methods.
Stay tuned for more updates on the contributions of SmartNet researchers at upcoming conferences and events!
